Todd Boss poetry reading at WVC April 16
Minnesota poet Todd Boss will give a poetry reading and book signing at Wenatchee Valley College on Monday, April 16, at 11 a.m. in Wenatchi Hall room 2111 on the Wenatchee campus.
Boss has published two collections of poems, Pitch (W.W. Norton, 2012) and Yellowrocket (W.W. Norton, 2008). Yellowrocket was awarded the Emily Clark Balch Prize by the Virginia Quarterly Review and named a Midwest Booksellers’ Honor Book for Poetry. The collection was also a finalist for the Minnesota Book Award. Boss is currently working on his first libretto, Panic, a verse adaptation of Knut Hamsun’s novel Pan.
Boss’s poems have appeared in the Poetry, The London Times, The New Yorker, NPR, Best American Poetry, Virginia Quarterly Review, Subtropics and Willow Springs. He is a four-time Pushcart Prize nominee and winner of the Glenna Luschei Prairie Schooner prize.
He is a co-founder and co-director of Motionpoems, a nonprofit poetry film initiative currently collaborating with literary publishers such as Milkweed, Graywolf, Copper Canyon and Ecco Press. Motionpoems seeks to broaden the audience for poetry by turning contemporary poems into short films for the big screen and for online distribution.
